Although currently there are not federal EPA regulations or standards enforced on mold or airborne mold contaminants, mold entails the environmental issues and health concerns as it closely connects to indoor air quality. As stated earlier, standards or Threshold Limit Values (TLVs) for airborne concentrations of mold, or mold spores, have not been set. However, can mold cause health problems? Molds are usually not a problem indoors, unless mold spores land on a wet or damp spot and begin growing. Molds have the potential to cause health problems.
